Happy birthday to Bart's dad Mark!!  We took a 45 minute taxi ride to the bus terminal and then caught the first bus from Quito to Mindo for a day trip.  Once we arrived we went to El Quetzal for an early lunch.  It was pretty disappointing and so greasy.  Then we started the 3 mile walk up into the cloud forest where we would be riding the  cable car and hiking to 5 different waterfalls.  A couple dogs walked the entire way with us.  We enjoy the company of these wandering dogs.  The cable car was great except it only lasted 30 seconds each way.  We hiked to the waterfalls and then back to the cable car.  We walked back into town and grabbed a couple of milkshakes.  We caught the 3:30 bus back to Quito and decided Mindo was a bit of a waste of time.  Sometimes you don't know until you get there.  We went to Bandito Brewery for a couple of beers and burgers.  It was delicious and we stuffed ourselves.
